A determined youngster hits the road, pushing her scooter along the new 50-kilometer urban greenway opened to the public in the city of Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 10. The ecology-themed greenway starts from Kunhe Middle Bridge, to the west of the city, and terminates at Baotou Dongxing Toll Station in the east. It passes through the districts of Hondlon, Qingshan, Jiuyuan and Donghe, and connects with Gangtie Street, Jianzhu Road and Bayantala Street. [Photo/Xinhua]
A scene of tranquility on April 10, as the new greenway -- open to cyclists, runners and pedestrians -- provides greater access to the outdoors for local residents. A total of 15 parks and leisure squares have been linked with the new greenway. These include Bayi Park, Laodong Park, Baotou Olympic Park, Saihantala Park and Jianshe Square. The newly-connected parks and greenway form an ecological leisure system and provide a gateway to the city’s natural and cultural sceneries for local residents. [Photo/Xinhua]
