Baotou's GDP hits 163b yuan in H1

In the first half of 2021, the regional gross domestic product (GDP) in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was 162.70 billion yuan ($25.17 billion), a year-on-year increase of 15.7 percent, and has seen an average increase of 6.8 percent in the recent two years, according to the city's statistics bureau.

The added value of the primary industry was 2.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent. The added value of the secondary industry was 76.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.7 percent. The added value of the tertiary industry was 83.61 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.3 percent. 

During the period, the added value of industries above designated size was 17.6 percent in the first half of 2021, ranking first among the 12 leagues and cities in the autonomous region.

During the six-month period, the added value of the mining industry increased by 10 percent year on year, the manufacturing industry increased by 24.4 percent year on year, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water increased by 2.5 percent year on year.

In the first half of the year, the city's fixed asset investment increased by 54.0 percent year on year, and the two-year average growth rate was 4.0 percent.

In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of permanent urban residents in the city was 26,898 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.9 percent. The per capita disposable income of permanent residents in rural pastoral areas was 9,792 yuan, an increase of 14.0 percent.
